Privacy Policy

World Monitor Terminal (“the App”) is a global intelligence and monitoring application. This Privacy Policy explains how we and our service providers collect, use, and protect information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

Last updated: March 2025

Information We Collect

The App is designed to work without requiring you to create an account or provide your name, email, or other personally identifiable information. We do not collect or store your personal identity.

We and our service providers may collect the following types of information:

Usage and analytics information. We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used. This may include: which screens you view, which tabs you select, how you interact with the map (e.g. layers toggled, events selected), how you use the news feed (e.g. categories, sort order, articles opened), use of live streams and market data, and similar in-app actions. These events are logged in aggregate to improve the product and are not used to identify you personally.

Technical and device information. Automatically collected information may include: device type and operating system, app version, language and region settings, and general usage patterns. This helps us support different devices and fix issues.

Crash and performance data. We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and performance data when the App encounters errors or instability. This data is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs and improve stability.

Remote configuration. We use Firebase Remote Config to deliver settings to the App (e.g. whether ads are enabled, ad frequency). This does not involve collecting your personal data; it only controls how the App behaves on your device.

Advertising and AdMob tracking. In the free version of the App we show ads delivered by Google AdMob. AdMob is a third-party advertising platform that may collect and use data for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. This can include: your device’s advertising identifier (e.g. IDFA on iOS), device type and OS, IP address, coarse location (e.g. country or region), and information about your interaction with ads in our App (e.g. that an ad was shown or clicked). AdMob and its partners may use this information to show you relevant ads, measure ad performance, and combine it with data from other apps or sites (subject to your device and privacy choices). We do not control what data Google collects or how they use it; their practices are described in Google’s Privacy Policy and in the Google AdMob and Google Advertising policies. We only control where and how often ads appear in our App (e.g. via Remote Config). If you subscribe to Premium, we stop showing you ads in the App and no longer request ad content for your use of the App, which reduces AdMob-related data collection for this App.

In-app purchases and subscriptions. The App offers optional paid subscriptions (e.g. weekly or yearly Premium) through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. All payments are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment card number, billing address, or other payment details. Apple may collect and process that information in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy and Apple Media Services Terms. We receive from Apple only the information needed to grant you access: for example, that a purchase or subscription is valid, the product identifier (e.g. weekly or yearly plan), and entitlement status. We use this solely to unlock Premium features (such as full map event details and ad-free experience) and to stop showing you ads. We do not use purchase history for advertising or profiling. Subscription management—including viewing your subscription, turning off auto-renewal, requesting a refund, or restoring purchases—is done through your device’s Settings (Apple ID > Subscriptions) or via Apple’s “Report a Problem” and support channels. We do not store your payment or billing information.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

– Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features.

– Understand usage patterns and fix crashes and performance issues.

– Deliver and measure advertising in the free version of the App.

– Unlock Premium features and disable ads when you have an active subscription.

– Comply with applicable laws and protect our rights and the security of the App.

Data Sources and Third-Party Services

The App displays content from external sources:

– Map and intelligence data are fetched from our data providers (e.g. api.worldmonitor.app and related services). We do not send your personal information to these providers; only standard technical requests (e.g. device type, app version) may be sent as needed to serve the content.

– News articles, live streams, and market data may link to or embed content from third-party websites and services. When you tap a link or open content in a browser, that third party’s privacy policy applies.

– We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) and Google AdMob. Their collection and use of data are described in Google’s Privacy Policy and in the Firebase and AdMob documentation. We do not control data that Google collects on their own behalf.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the data we collect to identify you by name or contact details unless we are required to do so by law (e.g. in response to a valid legal process).

Data Retention

Analytics and crash data are retained according to the retention settings of our providers (e.g. Google Firebase). We do not retain your data longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Subscription entitlement status is used only for as long as needed to provide Premium features.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Your Choices and Rights

– Advertising and AdMob: You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (on iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or “Limit Ad Tracking” in older versions). When you choose “Ask App Not to Track” or similar, we and our ad partners are expected to respect that choice where applicable. You can also use “Reset Advertising Identifier” to clear the ID used for ad targeting. Subscribing to Premium removes ads from the App and stops ad requests for your use of the App, which reduces AdMob tracking in this context.

– In-app subscriptions: You can cancel auto-renewal or manage your subscription at any time in Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions (or Apple ID > Subscriptions). Refunds and restore purchases are handled by Apple; we do not have access to change or refund payments.

– Analytics and crash data: You can disable the App’s network access in device settings to stop analytics and crash reporting, but this will prevent the App from loading map data, news, and other online features.

– Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection to processing). To exercise them, contact us using the details below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

International Transfers

Our service providers (e.g. Google, Apple) may store or process data in countries other than your own. We rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. contracts, standard contractual clauses) where required by law for such transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (e.g. in the App or by email if we have it).
